Experimental Facilities
The facilities indexed in this section welcome users from throughout the MIT community, regardless of department or discipline. In general, users may expect expert assistance with their work, though in most cases they will be expected or encouraged eventually to learn to operate the instruments independently. In all cases, users will be expected to understand the techniques in use well enough to appreciate and critique the data that is obtained.
Many of the facilities listed here welcome users from outside MIT. If you are not from MIT and would like more information, please contact the individual facility staff or consult the facility's web pages.
If the exact instrumentation you need is not available at MIT, the facility staff may be able to direct you to other labs, either academic or commercial, where you will be able to complete your experiments.
